Iftar At The Palace

With the approach of the holy month, and like every year, the Emirates Palace gives me the pleasure to enjoy its exclusive media sneak preview of its Ramadan Pavilion.

The elegant service and palatial array of dishes ranging from traditional to mouth watering Emirati dishes and desserts left us tantalized with its perfection.

Moreover, the warm welcoming of the staff in general and the management in particular, create a special feeling of being at home while being served in the luxury of the palace and its refined hospitality.

This year the pavilion wore a new traditional design completed with modern touches. Soft traditional music filled the air making people converse properly and at ease. At the same time, sophisticated stands of dates and spices are scattered around evoking Arabian history and heritage.

Excitingly enough, in June 14, the same venue will be transformed into Emirates Palace World Cup Tent where football fans could relax in the cool comfort of the spacious tent during the hotly anticipated games. One would never miss a single moment of the action across the 7 meters by 4 meters humongous LED screens.

Thank you Mr. Cramer and Mr. Alaoui for having me enjoy those eminent moments in the warm niche of the palace.

My 3rd Blogiversary

IMG_8420_

Hello guys,

Three years ago, I launched thehelicoptermommy since I wanted to share my experience as a mom of five through a real virtual world that can reach moms across the continents.

Moms who come from different places, diverse backgrounds with various beliefs and several principles. Moms who are employed and moms who are not. Whatever and wherever we come from, we are after all moms, and that is what unites us!

Yes we are simply moms who are doing our best and trying to enjoy motherhood with all the bitter sweet challenges it brings along.

We all have our own daily struggles and hassles. We all deal with such conflicts in the best way we think is correct. We make mistakes and we learn, and then a new battle arises. Yet, on the baseline, we all share the same foundations. In fact, we are all riding the same boat.

Throughout those few years not much has changed, but thanks to wonderful people like you a lot has been acquired:

• I love the fact that through blogging I have met inspiring super mamas who have left a special mark in my heart. From the inspiring moms whom I worked with, to those whom I met virtually, I have learned a lot from them and made some new good friends too.

• I can’t be more happier to be able to exercise my passion and hobby as an aspiring writer, especially because it inspires other moms in maintaining a positive attitude. Moreover, writing those words which come tumbling down on me, helps me maintain my sanity as I juggle through my busy life.

• It is always a great pleasure to know from you my dear followers and readers how much you enjoy my posts and find them beneficial. That is the best reward I can get! At the same time, going over my words again calms me down and helps me overcome certain challenges I face as a parent.

• With the blogging experience I have gained more patience and an awareness of how people and things function. Things do not come the easy way, and one needs to work hard to attain the successes one seeks.

Today, thehelicoptermommy celebrates its 3rd anniversary, and I am looking forward to the years ahead of me.

For this year, we will continue to empower moms throughout their journeys by holding as many educational and intellectual events related to parenting as possible. Please, let me know of any specific topics you would like me to address, so we can tackle it in the coming year.

Finally, I do hope that you will continue to enjoy my platform as without you, all of this would not have been accomplished .

With love,

Rania – thehelicoptermommy

PS: Thank you Atelier Blanc for hosting me and providing me with your charming venue.

And what other place to be when I got to indulge myself with their rich chocolate in celebration to my three beautiful years of blogging?

Working Mother’s Day with dxbmommysjourney

Nilufar (dxbmommysjourney): Admin/HR executive and I blog/vlog as a hobby
. What are some of the challenges you face as a working mom?

I forget my meal times and don’t get enough sleep, but I am happy with the first challenge though 🙂
. How do you manage to maintain work and your daily life as a mom?

I do follow my strict plan and try my best to stick to it. Every minute plays a role for me, that’s why great time management and schedule are important. Weekdays are for work (for me) and education (for my son). Weekends are for partying around, not the actual party, but we have a rule of taking the most of the weekend to make up for the week. I do my house chores after 8 p.m. when my son is asleep, daily, in portions.
. What message would you send to other moms to encourage them in pursuing their dreams?

Honestly, children are not meant to stop us, they are here to learn from us. As much they see hard working and dedicated parents that much they learn to set their own goals and dreams. I believe being a working mom is part of nurturing the child too. My mom was a working mom and I’ve seen her climbing the career ladder from being the teacher of the school and reaching the school director position, that gave me the belief of how strong and dedicated can one woman be, this is also a base for my independent and persuasive character. I always tell that my parents are the reason of my achievements, as a daughter I understand that my mom has nurtured my dedication and I thank her forever. Life is tough, we never know where we might end up, we need to be ready for all, if I wasn’t a working mom I would never survive after all I went through. That’s why we should never drop our dreams in favor of “raising children” because setting an example of achieving our own goals is part of nurturing our children. After all, time flies and kids end up being busy at schools with their own tough schedule of activities and friends living their own life.

Happy Halloween!

img_2021

This year we celebrated Halloween three times on three consecutive occasions. The boys were thrilled to be able to wear their unique costumes, that were purchased from Party City and which they were so fond of, for three continous days.  I was even delighted to see how ecstatic the twins felt as their pumpkins got filled up with candy and chocolate every time they said, “Happy Halloween! ” I cannot believe how fast time flies.  They were just born yesterday, and now they happily participate in special festivities with their siblings.

First we celebrated along with special friends and relatives.  Three awesome mamas took care of the decoration, turning the area into a beautiful Halloween setting.  They also prepared delicious homemade goodies and snacks, and organized fun Halloween activities. We all had a blast as we played, jumped, and raced – even the little ones of the group.

We, as moms, also got dressed up with some simple but fun costumes to join in the celebration with our kiddos. It simply becomes more meaningful when we are involved and join in the fun.

The next day, my hubby, kids, and I went to another cherished friend’s house where the kids enjoyed trick or treating.  Again,  they were showered with tasty snacks, extraordinary goodies, and heaps of candy.

Finally,  and like every year,  the boys went trick or treating in the neighborhood along with their dear friends. The excitement was peculiar as well.

Every time I cannot but notice the joy that glows from their young faces.  The whole scenario as I observe them melts my heart.  I look at them with pride as I silently pray that we will always be able to provide them with such happiness on any occasion given. I hope that, one day,  when they look back, they would be thankful and joyful as they reminisce over those special images from their childhood. As I write these words, my heart swells up, and I feel more than grateful for all the blessings I am entrusted with.

Happy Halloween to all of you my dear readers,  followers,  and friends. A big thank you goes to all of those who made our Halloween as special as it was. Hope you have enjoyed yours as well!
